Delete your Fugaz account
Last updated: 2026-10-30
This page explains how to delete your Fugaz account and what happens to your data when you do. You do not need to sign in to read it.
Who develops the app
Fugaz (fugaz.app) is developed and operated by Diego Herrero, who is also the data controller. You can write to legal@fugaz.app.
How to delete your account
There are two ways to delete the account, the app and the web, and both delete exactly the same thing. The bot only deletes the profile.
- From the app. Tap the ⋯ button in the top right corner, then Mi cuenta… (My account) and Eliminar mi cuenta (Delete my account). The next screen tells you what gets deleted and asks you to confirm.
- From the web, while signed in. Go to your profile and use Eliminar mi cuenta (Delete my account).
- By writing to the bot. Send it the message delete my profile in the same chat you use Fugaz from. borrar mi perfil, eliminar mi perfil, profil löschen, supprimer mon profil and cancella il mio profilo work too. This deletes only the profile: your account and your ways in stay. To delete the account, use the app or the web.
⚠️ Careful: “deactivate” deletes nothing. The words deactivate, desactivar, baja, salir del mapa, stop, leave and off only take you off the map: your profile stays stored and you show up again as soon as you share your location. Deleting has to be asked for with the words above.
If none of the three works for you, write to legal@fugaz.app and we will do it for you. Write from the email address you have confirmed in Fugaz, so we know the account is yours. If you use WhatsApp, we keep your number for up to 24 hours after your last message, only to be able to answer you, and then it is deleted on its own; if you use Telegram, for up to 180 days, to route your messages. After that only an irreversible code derived from it remains, so we cannot find your account from the number: to identify you we will ask you to send the bot a message from the same phone you use Fugaz on.
What is deleted
Immediately, with no waiting period:
- Your account and your ways in: your confirmed email address, your Google, Apple and Telegram ids, the code derived from your phone number and the link to Neon Auth. If you sign in again with any of them, a new, empty account is created: the old one is not recovered.
- Your profile: name, photo, age, languages, nationality, social handles and anything you wrote about yourself. The photo is deleted from storage as well.
- Your seat in the group. If you were alone in it, the group closes.
- The buddy role and the memberships of business accounts, if you had them.
- Your location, and with it your presence on the map.
- Your WhatsApp number, if we had it stored to be able to answer you.
- The shared views you created, which stop opening even for somebody who still has the link.
- Every session you have —on other phones and on the web—, the registered devices with their notification tokens, the link to your Telegram chat and the conversation with the bot stored on our servers.
What is not deleted
- What other people already saw or received. A message already on somebody's phone is theirs, and we cannot take it back.
- Moderation decisions. If there was a report, the decision we made is kept for 2 years, and a ban from the app for 3. They are not deleted at the request of the reported person while they are still needed to defend against a claim (GDPR art. 17.3(e)).
- Which door you came in through. We keep one row per person with the channel they arrived by and who was on the other side, without your name or your phone number. It is what the buddy programme rests on, and deleting it would leave other people with no account of why they got in.
- Your Neon Auth account. The email and password are kept by Neon Auth, not by us. When you delete from the web with that session open, we ask Neon to delete your sign-in record; Neon may ask you to confirm it by email first. Deleted from the app, we cannot even ask: that account no longer opens anything in Fugaz —signing in with it creates a new, empty account—, but it still exists at Neon until you delete from the web or write to us.
- What a business account stored about you. The phone invitations they sent you are theirs, not yours, and do not expire on their own: write to us and we will delete them.
